Steve Hassmann is a co-founder of Texas Next Capital and its affiliate, Acacia Capital Fund.

Steve has three decades of investment banking, private equity and financial experience based in Chicago, New York and San Antonio, working for Acacia Capital; Weatherly Private Capital; Chase Mergers & Acquisitions Group; Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co; and, Dawson Enterprises, which owned Alamo Rent-a-Car and was one of the largest automobile retail dealer groups in the U.S.

His primary focus has been advising businesses owned by family offices and buyouts of small companies with revenues under $100 million.  Steve’s experience extends across a wide range of industries including precast concrete utility structures, branded consumer products, publishing, textiles, financial services, credit life and property insurance, air and ground medical transportation, clinical research organizations, automobile retail and leasing, radio & TV broadcasting, pharmaceutical manufacturing, dairy equipment manufacturing and national van lines.

This experience has shaped a unique understanding of the operating, financial and personal dynamics involved in facilitating growth and exceptional returns with small companies.  In addition, he has over a decade of experience in C-level operating and board-level governance positions with private and publicly-listed organizations.

Steve serves on the board of directors of Summit Air Ambulance. He is also on the board of four structured finance and asset securitization programs, funding a variety of assets primarily in the commercial paper market.  He previously served on the board of directors for publicly-listed For Better Living, Inc. and Echo Rock Ventures, the financial advisory board of REACH Air Medical Services, and the board of eighteen asset securitization programs.  He was a charter member of the Oklahoma Christian University Business Advisory Council from 1987 to 2001 and member of the Shiloh Ministries Board of Trustees from 1997 to 2001.

Steve earned an MBA from Harvard Business School and a BS in Accounting summa cum laude from Oklahoma Christian University.  He has passed the CPA, Series 7 and Series 63 exams.
